Book Review: Gobi Goes Viral by Vibha Batra

To be honest, I am a little late to the party celebrating aka reviewing the book, Gobi Goes Viral. The book was written by Vibha Batra and illustrated by Shamika Chaves. And I received this delightful book through the Blogchatter Book Review Program. So, why was I late? Well, it's because my 9-years old son laid his hand first on the book and would not leave the book alone. He loved reading it so much that he re-read it twice in a single week.  Naturally, I have to add his thoughts about the book first. Here are they-  Here are my thoughts. The book is all about your willpower and ambition to live a better life. Gopi represents every child including you, me and millions of Indian children who dream big and work hard enough to achieve them. I also liked that the book addressed the issue of bullying in school in an apt manner. I was looking for books that address the issue and the book served this purpose beautifully.  Gobi Goes Viral is a captivating narrative that i...

Change Your Habits, Change Your Life by Ashdin Doctor First things first, self-help books are a big hit in our bookworm family. But most of such books are written by foreign authors in their context.  So, when I laid hands on the Change Your Habits, Change Your Life and started reading the introduction, it hit me hard. Suddenly I can resonate with the author, I can understand his situation that turned his life upside down, his struggles and his journey. It was a surreal feeling and as I went further, the suggestions seemed coming from someone I know.  Things that I liked The insights shared in the book are easily doable. 7 Life Lessons I learnt from the Witcher Book Series

As the @netflix dropped the first teaser of the third chapter of the Witcher series, this is the perfect time to revisit the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski.  I read the book in 2018; since then, it has been one of my favourite fantasy series. It is a different world out there where only the worthy can survive. The thought-provoking themes and the plot twists can hook you up to the last word. Although I have no complaints against the first season of the Netflix drama, I am quite sceptical about the portrayal of the third season as the books are much more complex later in the book series.  However, I will always love the book series and the things they taught me.  Here are some life lessons that can be learned from the series: *Prejudice and intolerance only lead to conflict.  The books explore the dangers of discrimination and intolerance, whether it is between different races, genders, or social classes. These prejudices often lead to conflict and violence, ...

3 Lessons learnt from Atomic Habits by James Clear

Atomic Habits by James Clear is a powerful guide for anyone seeking to build positive habits and break negative ones. In this blog post, we will explore three important lessons learned from the book and how they can help improve your life. Lesson #1: Focus on Systems, Not Goals In Atomic Habits, Clear emphasizes the importance of building good habits through focusing on systems, rather than just setting lofty goals. According to Clear, a system is a set of processes or habits that you consistently follow to achieve a specific outcome.  The key to building effective systems is to make them small and manageable so that they can be consistently maintained. One example of a system Clear recommends is the “two-minute rule.” The rule states that any new habit should take no longer than two minutes to complete. This way, it becomes easier to start and maintain the habit. Lesson #2: Use the Four Laws of Behavior Change Clear identifies four laws of behaviour change that can help individual...

Hello, blogosphere!

I mean, hello, literally!  After a long 24-month of hiatus, I am back to blogging. It was not a planned decision but rather forced by circumstances and life. I will not talk about those bitter things, but I missed blogging.  I missed the community, the adrenaline rush of writing and posting, waiting for comments, and those interactions over social media. Oh, how I have missed blogging. But as they say, make lemonade when life throws lemon towards you.  I wrote for magazines and books, did content writing for clients like Fortune 500 CEOs, and noted internet personalities. So, while away from blogging, I have never stopped writing.  But then, life threw some unexpected twists in my life. I decided to join the workforce again! After being an independent freelancer for almost 6 years, I joined Govt. of Assam as an official. It's a job that involves lots of IEC activities, so writing will not leave me anytime soon.  Anyway, I will be writing about ...
