My Journey

Hi, I’m Puspanjalee Das Dutta—a geographer by training, a communicator by profession, and a writer at heart.

I hold a Master’s degree in Geography from Gauhati University, and I started my career in a blend of teaching and corporate roles. But it was writing—especially blogging—that truly gave me a voice and a purpose.

Back in 2012, I created my first blog, and what began as an experiment quickly became a thriving digital platform. Over time, I managed two successful blogs, “My Writing, My World” and “Foodie On The Road,” which together attracted more than 30 million views.

Through them, I wrote about parenting, travel, food, books, digital marketing, and everything in between.

My first book on Regional Geography, Japan: A Comprehensive Geography was published in 2012. Since then, I have published 8 books on Geography, Regional Cuisine, Blogging and Content Marketing. My books are available here.

I won the Indian Blogging Awards, 2017 by Indiblogger for my blog Foodie On The Road where I used to write about food, culinary history and traditions related to Assamese food.

In 2019, YourStory featured my blogging journey, which was a big moment for me. I was proud to see how my personal reflections and digital work connected with so many people across India.

I was also featured along side our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi regarding thoughts on Indian start up journey.

I started my coaching journey in 2017 and till now, I have trained people from around the world about SEO, writing online, freelance writing and blogging.

I was thriving and like a whirlwind, I was multitasking an array of gigs while taking care of my child and family.

And then COVID happened. Although my coaching school bloomed during 2020 and 2021, life had a surprise for me.

I and my husband were hit by COVID-19 in December 2021 and just like that the world was shattered in an instant.

That one month in bed in December 2021, unable to move, unable to hold a book to read, and unable to sit more than 10 minutes in front of the computer left me questioning my choices and purposes.

It was like I was already stretching myself thin with my blogs, my courses and my books. When COVID hit, my life turned upside down. So, in 2022, I shut down my two blogs, stopped everything and concentrated on my health.

I continued my courses as I had people on my waitlist but by 2023, I took a break from it too.

Instead, I took time to heal, mentally and physically. I read books, took courses, returned to a job after 6 years for a change of scenery and stopped multitasking.

I know I can still multitasking but I will never take my health for granted. I promised myself that it was time to stop being a boss lady. I would rather sleep than be awake for a client in the USA.

So much has changed over the internet since I took the break. But the community that I created stayed with me. They regularly messaged me, asked about my well-being and helped me motivated even on my worst day.

The perspective that I had regarding my writing/blogging career has already changed by the ups and downs in my physical health.

After a hiatus of almost 18 months, I am back with this fledgling blog which is named after my first blog. Here, I will write about all the topics that I love talking and have an interest.

While I have stepped away from high-traffic blogs and daily content schedules, I still love writing, connecting, and teaching. Whether it’s through a YouTube video, a quiet Instagram post, or a short story, I continue to share pieces of myself and my journey.
